Education & qualifications Work Experience School 1 Hungarian school in Lučcenec School 2 German girls´ school in Lucenec and Poprad Interests & achievements Elena Maróthy-Šoltésová 1894 – 1927 - a chairpersn of Zivena - the oldest Slovak organization for women the reprsentative of Slovak realism 1875 married and moved to Marttin Works Together with Terézia Vansová she started a women magazine called Zivena After 1916 it was the only literary mgazine in Slovakia 1881 – Na dedine, a short story - her first literary work (published in the magazine called Slovenské pohady) 1894 – Proti prúdu, two-part novel 1896 – Prvé previnenie, a short story 1898 – Popolka, a short story 1898 – O vplyve zábavného čítania, an article (published in the newspaper called Národnie noviny) 1902 – Za letného večera, a short story 1913 / 1917 – Môj syn, memoirs 1923 / 1924 – Moje deti, (My children) the work includes Umierajúce dieťa (Dying child) - about her daughter - and Môj syn (My son), the workis about her children and also her autobiography; it was translated into several languages 1925 – Sedemdesiat rokov života, memoirs talking about 20 years of her life (* 6th January 1855, Krupina † 11. February 1939, Martin) Personal Professional She promoted education and job opportunities of Slovak women in the society.
