Your MacBook
Logging in
Trackpad
Programs
The Dock
Finder
Saving files
Care and feeding of your MacBook
Login using your school user id and password
Use the same login as on the school PC's
The guest account does not save any settings, bookmarks, or files to the hard drive after logout.
 The home folder has a little house icon
Your files will usually be in the Documents folder
Downloaded files usually go to the downloads folder
File storage options:
1. Hard Drive of the MacBook
2. USB Drive
3. Network folder
don't lose it!
may appear on the desktop and in finder at login
remember that others are using the laptops too: don't fill up the hard drive with your own personal video and music libraries
only available at school
Online file storage:
GoogleDocs
Edmodo
You may add or remove applications, folders, stacks, and files from the dock
Use Stacks for your favorite folders
Trackpad settings are customizable and can be set to respond to tapping in System Preferences
One finger = mouse control
Two finger swipe = scroll
Two fingers on trackpad + click = right click (also control+click = right click)
Software programs can be found in the Applications folder in the Finder

Firefox
Word
Excel
Powerpoint
iCal
Google Earth
Skype
LoggerPro
Graphical Analysis
If you need to move your MacBook somewhere, close the lid and carry it carefully to  the new location
When you are finished using the MacBook, be sure to log out then close the lid to sleep the computer.
Put your MacBook away in the cart with the number side facing out
Always plug in your MacBook when parking it in the cart
No food or drinks near your MacBook, please
