Jesus, an Upstander, and Me!

The Reign
of God.
The Reign of God is not a time nor a place.
It is a feeling. We do not know when it shall
come.

Media and Culture
Identity
When we watch television, we are likely to see many ads for beauty products. In today’s society looking "perfect" is a top priority.
Recently Kim Kardashian had a photo shoot for a magazine. She decided to put both the photoshopped version and the real version of the picture in the magazine. She wanted to show how not all women look like those girls in the magazines. Many of the girls have parts of their bodies photoshopped, and some people don’t even realize that, so they strive to get the “perfect body” to match the people in the ads they see.

According to Jesus, the Reign of God is a new era in history, a time characterized by peace, joy, freedom, and love.

In other words...a new social order based on unconditional love for other people.
To help make the Reign of God come quicker, I am going to show kindness to my neighbors, and help out anyone in need. I will never try to harm someone else, and I will always try to bring out the best in people. I can also go “green” and help save our earth.
When we learned about identity, we also learned about morality on February 13th.

Morality has 3 stages:
The Morality of Childhood-
A child has their parents tell them what is right and wrong.
The In-Between Morality of Adolescence-
A child starts to questions different things. Starts to discover what they think is right and wrong.
The Morality of Mature Adulthood-
When the child is old enough to discover their own ideas about the world, and is able to handle the consequences of their actions.
When I think about how my Identity has been changed, I believe it has been for the better. When you are young, any mistake you make your parents are the ones who fix it. But as you get older, you gain more responsibility, and any mistakes you make you have to fix yourself.
I like having the opportunity to mess up and learn from my mistakes. It helps me grow as a person. And by making these mistakes it shows that I am not perfect, no one is, and I have to accept myself the way I am. I will not change for anyone else. I think if everyone didn’t care what others thought of them everyone would be happier, and the Reign of God would come quicker.
