go to flickr.com and create an account 1. Create a new account. Please don't sign in with your google account, I'm worried it will eventually be blocked. 2. Text or email yourself your password. Forgetting your password won't excuse you from assignments. 3. Please create a screen name that includes your full first name and your last initial. 4. Write your flickr username on the list provided by Brooks 5. Brooks will invite you to join the group "Skyview Photography." Please accept that request. How to create an account and get started How to upload and name photos 1. Click on the upload photos link on your home page 2. You have a space limit. Make sure you are uploading small (resized) jpg's only. 3. Be smart about what you upload:
You are representing Skyview and you've signed agreements saying you'll use technology in only school appropriate ways.
Your photostream can act as a portfolio for you. What you post here may lead to paying photography jobs (so carefully choose which photos you post). 4. Give each photo a description Add tags to multiple photos at once Title=assignment name

*Required Add to any sets that they belong in Create sets for each project 1. Click on the "Organize & Create" tab 2. Click on the "sets" tab and click "create new set" 3. Click on the tab that says privacy & permissions. 4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and make sure "safe" search is turned on 3. Decide who you want to be able to see your photos. Etiquette 1. 1. Skyview students: Only comment on photos when we are conducting a critique in class 2. Other photographers: Only write positive comments. 3. Ways to get people to see your photos:
Leave positive comments on others' photos
Favorite people's photos
Add people as contacts
Join groups and add your photos to groups 4. Remember you are representing Skyview and yourself. Things you put online are forever, use good judgement. 5. How to recognize creepers:
Look at the people who are favoriting your photos
If they have weird photos on their page or give you a bad feeling in any way: block them How to resize a photo:
1) Open it in Photoshop 2) Uncheck the resample image box 3) Change the resolution to 300 pixels/inch 4) Recheck resample image 5) Change the longest side of the photo to 7 inches. Let the computer set the other side. 6) Click OK
