Question:1

Branding

Our Cover

I decided to not have any bright colours what so ever in my album cover. I decided to go with the black and white approach. Since in the video there wasn't a single specific colour highlighted. I didn't want to force it for the album cover. So i made it really simple.

Technology

Most Pop videos have the budget to use allot of special effects and animation. They have text on screen and green screen as well as paid professionals to edit it.

Our Video

Carol Vernallis: Observational

We didn't use any technology in our video because we can't pull it of and forcing it may be drawing the line when it comes to making a good music video.

We followed Vernallis observations of editing and camera work in music.

We didn't use continuity,

Our Music video

We didn't have very colourful make up in our video. We felt as we wanted to stay away from the current meta for pop videos and do our videos from music videos from a while back.

Music Genre Conventions

In what ways does your media products use, develop or challenge forms and convention of real media products?

Our video did not follow Andrew Goodwin three relations, we did not use Illustration in our video because we wanted the video to be about that artist more that about the lyrics. We thought about using amplification and emphasize our artist "rocking the life" but as we felt it didn't look professional enough we decided against it. Lastly we didnt use Disjunction as it didn't go with the song or genre.

Music Video Costume

Conventions

A Pop music video can mostly be identified by the costume and location.

Costumes in pop videos are usually revealing and show alot of skin. The outfits that are worn are 90% of the time to bold to be worn in public, or are the newest style of clothing.
