When God and I Are One

When God and I Are One
I decided to look at the aspects of self
So I opened my closet and looked on the shelf
I saw anger and pain and humour and health,
Amber, great chains and rumours of wealth,
Suffering sat dejected all by himself
While the pompous self paraded in front of my eyes
The neurotic self pondered the size of my thighs
As the controlling self tried to rule the roost
The innocent child asked for a boost
Who are you I wondered as he looked in my eyes
He just smiled and welcomed me to come inside
I saw shadow and light dance through the dark
Noah and his animals and the whole bloody ark
I saw triumph and trajedy wrestle for fun
A procession of paradoxes saying, "We are all One"
The deeper I looked, the more that I saw
I stood there dumbfounded, rapt in awe
I saw creation arise before my eyes,
Einstein twisting ties into infinity signs,
The Big Bang as a big breath as an evolving idea,
The Integral geek trying to quadratically map a panacea.
The seeker, like Sisyphus, jumping for a string
To turn on the light to illuminate everything
The dark parts were scary like mosters under the bed
But I remembered those are merely projections from my head.
There were stages and states and waves to surf on,
Lines, levels, and types and a big Buddha icon
Schrodinger's cat playing with laboratory mice,
And an old school teacher squeezing my head in a vice.
As I looked in my closet it all became clear
But the deeper I got the bigger the fear.
It was then that I heard a soothing voice,
"Be Big Mind, be Big Heart, it is your choice."
So I breathed very deeply and reached for above
I trusted the process, and the voice of Big Love
I pulled on the string until I heard "click"
Then I opened my eyes, it happened quite quick
Bathed in bright light it dawned upon me
That it is this simple to be empty and free
To peel through all the complexity
And embrace the luminousity.
My heart beats to the rhythmic hum
of Om Mani Padme Hum.
Of a constructed identity
