Serials in the fields of the theology are held in the back room...

Grimsley Building
The Grimsley Building serves as both a library extension and as a classroom. A video-conferencing system allows students from various places throughout the world to join BMA Seminary students for class.
The Grismley Periodicals are stored behind the classroom.
The non-theological periodicals are held in the library extension building. Let's zip on over to the Grimsley building!
The latest issues are stored here...
New issues are checked in here. Please ask for assistance if you need to know about a specific issue.
Reference
The Reference section of Kellar Library is home to dictionaries, encyclopedias, lexicons, concordances, bibliographies, and more. The call numbers on these books are prefixed with an "R." These resources do not circulate, and therefore cannot be checked out.

Online Library Catalog
The Kellar Library catalog, also called "Destiny" is a web-based system for accessing library resources. The primary place for accessing the library catalog within the library is from the three computers designated for this use.

Library Catalog
Online Library Catalog
You can also access the online catalog from any internet-capable device, whether remotely from your home computer, from your laptop while studying on campus, or from your mobile phone while browsing the stacks. Just go to the following link:

http://bmats.follettdestiny.com

Computer Room
Desktop Computers
Patrons have access to several desktop computers in the computer room, and one in the Tennessee room. Students may also use the library catalog computers for quick web-browsing and print jobs.

Wireless Internet
Students can pick up a wi-fi signal throughout the library. Access to the internet is unrestricted, and students are expected to use the Internet wisely at all times, whether on a public or private device.

Photocopy and Scanning
The copier is located in the copy room. Photocopy and print services are provided at 10 cents per copy. When making copies or retrieving printed items, be sure to write down your name and the number of copies on the copy machine report resting on the counter beside the copy machine. You can charge the expense to your account, or place your money in the box to the right of the machine.

Photocopy and Scanning
The photocopier also serves as a scanner. You can scan documents and have them sent to your email account. Please ask for assistance if you would like to scan. Alternatively, there is another scanner at the desktop workstation in the Tennessee room.

Electronic Research Databases
Students have access to key research databases for theological study, and a number of additional databases in a wide variety of subject areas. Everything you need to know about our database offerings can be learned at the following link:

Inter-Library Loan
An Inter-library loan request allows you to borrow books from other libraries if Kellar Library does not possess a copy. You can make ILL requests through:

http://www.worldcat.org

Please note that ILL requests can take some time to fulfill.
Distance Lending
The Kellar Library distance lending policy allows students who are only taking classes online to check out up to 7 books at a time and have them shipped out at the student's expense. Please email Alicia Johnson at alicia.johnson@bmats.edu to make requests.
Audiovisual Duplication
Duplication of cassettes, CDs and DVDs is available. Blank cassettes are not available, but CDs and DVDs may be purchased for $2 apiece.
Other Library Policies
Browsing: Books removed from the shelves when browsing should not be reshelved. Rather, they should be left on a table or at the circulation desk.
Change: The Library does not provide change except when it is needed for payment of fines or photo copies.
Food: Food consumption is prohibited in the library. Drinking of beverages is permitted only if the liquid is in a closed container or resealable bottle. Please notify staff of any spills. Drinks are not permitted at any library computer station.
Other Library Policies
Supplies: The library does not sell office supplies. Staplers and mending tape are provided in the copy machine room.
Telephone: Students are allowed to make brief telephone calls with library landlines. Cell phones should be silenced and calls should be taken outside.
Study After Hours: Students are not permitted to study in the library when the library is closed, except by special permission granted by the Director or Assistant Library Director.
Doors: Students should not exit by the side or back door of the library. Entrance and exit should be by the front door.
Setting up your Destiny Account
Setting up your Destiny account will allow you to better use the various features of the online library catalog and to monitor your patron information for due dates for items you have checked out and fines for overdue items which you may owe.

You will need to have the barcode number from the back of your library card in order to set up your account. If you do not know your number, please contact Alicia Johnson at alicia.johnson@bmats.edu
Searching the Library Catalog
You can view your Items out, Fines, and Holds from this screen.
Libguides
You've already encountered Libguides at several points in this orientation. Libguides is an online hub for research at BMATS. It is a content delivery system organizing a series of guides produced by librarians at BMATS.
Libguides
Librarians and professors at BMATS will continue to add content to the Libguides site, so check back regularly to see what new guides are available. You can access Libguides at:

The End!
This concludes the Kellar Library Online Orientation. If you've been asked to provide proof that you have completed it, please pan over to Dr. Blaylock's office closet (near the "BMA Collection" slide) and see what secret he is hiding!
