Big Lottery Funded TARGETS FOR THE PROJECT
625 students increase their employability skills, knowledge and confidence
150 students and their families participate in person-centred planning for transition
625 students participate in work experience linked to their aspirations
175 students gain employment
245 students progress onto training or education linked to their aspirations
Partners increase their knowledge and develop a sustainable transition model "Every student with a learning disability in Scotland
has meaningful support for transition from
vocational FE courses into paid employment" The Model:
1 Transitions Coordinator per college
25-30 students from various courses/departments
Based in the Support for Learning department
Developing relationships, identifying gifts/barriers
Person-centred action planning
1-1 coaching, reinforcing collegiate learning
Working with parents and carers
Expertise in H&S and benefits advice
Catered work experience opportunities
Skills for getting jobs and support to stay there 446 students have developed their job aspirations, gained employability skills catered to their goal and been given the confidence to go and use those new skills. 1360 local employers have allowed students to take part in vocational learning in their business 168 students have gone on to positive employability destinations
