Making music. Moving forward. Northwest Choral Society Who We Are: The Northwest Choral Society was formed in 1965 as a community-based, Illinois, non-profit organization to promote and encourage the appreciation, understanding, study, and performance of outstanding choral literature.” Membership Our members come as far away as Elgin to the West, Hawthorne Woods to the North, and the Chicago Lakefront to the East What our audience and members say about the NWCS: "NWCS is like a family; we care about each other" I feel very welcomed at NWCS Vowel matching was excellent, keep up the good work. This is a wonderful concert under an excellent leadership.
~ C. Yashar, Past Reviewer of the Illinois Arts Council I am honored and blessed to have found the NWCS. Being a member, I have grown musically and I have grown as a person. There is no other group I would rather sing with then the family I sing with at the NWCS. Mission Statement:

Northwest Choral Society draws upon singers from the greater Chicago area with the purpose of performing a diverse repertory for the joy, enrichment, and education of our membership and our audiences. "The Chorus has been my lifeline
for many years" "When I sing there is an inner peace that I feel inside that is hard to describe. It’s like the world’s problems, my problems, they just disappear for a few hours, it’s just me and the music and my 2nd family, the NWCS." "Vowel matching was excellent, keep up the good work. This is a wonderful concert under an excellent leadership."
C. Yashar, Past Reviewer of the Illinois Arts Council 2009-2012 have been very successful seasons! New Membership has grown by 8%
Membership Attrition has decreased to less than 2%
Ticket Sales have grown annually by 13% or more However, we still need financial assistance to cover our expenses. Out of 14 community, college and non-profit choirs, the NWCS continues to have the lowest membership dues. While competitive, our ticket prices
are lower than many of our
competitors' prices. Our projected expenses for 2012-2013 is $31, 800 while our current budget is $22,250. Leaving a deficit of nearly $10,000. Income from Program Book Ads is less than 5% (1,000)
Membership Dues constitute about 10% of revenue (roughly $3,000)
Ticket Sales earn about 33% of our income (estimated $12,500)
Contributions from singing members, audience members and corporations supply approximately 20% of our income ($5,750) Income An Opportunity to Give The NWCS has several opportunities to give: Platinum -- $2,500 Benefactor Sponsor
