Cell Analogy: Cell to Baseball By Ian Hardesty Park Gates : Cell Membrane The Gates let people in and out like a cell membrane, which allows objects in and out of cell. Water Tub : Vacuole The water tub is similar to a vacuole as they both store liquids. Charlie Manual : Nucleus Charlie Manual, the Phillies Manager, is like the nucleus of a cell as they both are both similar to a command center. Cell Wall : Stadium Stands The stadium stands are like the cell wall as they both provide a sturdy structure to the cell/ stadium. Cytoplasm : Fans Fans are similar to cytoplasm as they give structure to the Franchise by being the main source of profits Mitochondria : Ryan Howard Ryan Howard is like a mitochondria as he provides power to the franchise. Chloroplasts : Power supply The power supply makes
power,
like
the chloroplast although it probably doesn't
come from sunlight. Golgi Apparatus : Food Vendors The food vendors are similar to the Golgi Apparatus as they both send out the food/ proteins to the fans/ rest of the cell Ribosomes : Chefs The chefs and ribosomes both produce proteins/ foods Lysosomes : Field Maintenance Both the field maintenance and lysosomes clean up the field/ cell Microtubules/ Mircofilaments : Stairs between levels The stairs transports people between levels in the stadium like the microtubules/ microfiliaments which help with movment within the cell Endoplasmic Reticulum : The GM The GM is like the Endoplasmic Reticulum, which assembles components of the cell membrane, as he assembles a team for a franchise.
