CleanPowerSF in a Nutshell »
Caroline Teng

The energy that PG&E buys & generates for you comes from several sources, namely--
Only about 15% of the energy is renewable, which WILL NOT meet the state’s goals of 20% renewable by 2010
San Francisco's Response?
To provide all San Franciscans access to cleaner, more renewable energy automatically
Let me repeat--
You will receive greener energy and help SF achieve its environmental goals
with no effort
on your part
You'll just know you're receiving a cleaner energy mix when the "Generation" line item on your electricity bill becomes CleanPowerSF
And if you don't like it, you can always go back to "how things were"
But really, why would you when you could have all these:
CleanPowerSF will use PG&E's existing electricity lines
Currently
And we'll do the rest
The answer: not very clean at all
Increased customer choice
Local green jobs and economic benefits
Greenhouse gas emission reductions
Long-term price stability
Energy sources that won't ever run out

First...
do you know how clean your energy is?
The goal is to provide 51% green energy within the next 10 years.
How "green" will the energy be, you ask?
Meaning your electricity will increasingly come from non-depleting, non-polluting energy sources such as:
Biomass
Wind
Geothermal
Solar
Energy efficiency that reduces demand and saves you money
All at rates competitive with PG&E
