Sammy Ganz Ambitious Determined I am Sammy Ganz, a strategic communicator eager to break into the professional world. I am... At 2 years old, I desperately wanted to know how to tie my own shoes. My older sister had a book that taught just that. Though I did not know how to read very well, I sat down with the book and kept reading until I understood how to tie my shoes. I am the same go-getter today. They say a picture is worth a thousand words... but this one comes down to one: "ouch." After this acrobatic fall, I caught my breath and re-mounted the horse. The next time around, we made it over the jump. I do not let failure get in the way of my success. Strategic I served as the Account Manager for a semester-long project in an advanced strategic communication principles course. I created a strong campaign strategy for the Honda Civic Hybrid based on research and key insights. The consistent and thorough nature of the campaign won the pitch against other students' work. Successful In Fall 2010, I served as the Marketing Director of Curb Magazine, a student-run publication out of the UW's School of Journalism & Mass Communication. I raised $12,600 in 11 weeks - nearly double the amount raised in 2009. I negotiated a print contract that doubled the circulation to 10,000 and expanded to magazine to 64 pages. I exceed expectations. Published While part of Curb Magazine, I wrote an article about the true devastation caused by drunk driving in Wisconsin. The story stood out so much that two newspapers, including the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, asked to reprint it in their papers. Pioneer In 2010, two colleagues and I started our own blog, swimmingcows.com, to serve as the premier source for advertising and public relations news in the Madison, Wis. area. I write multiple blog posts per week and promote the blog using social media and online advertisements. I am currently organizing a mentorship program through swimmingcows to bridge the gap between students and professionals in Wisconsin. & much more Contact me to learn more samantha.ganz@gmail.com Twitter @sammyganz
