What is "Middle College"?
Middle College is a non-traditional program that bridges the gap between high school and college for those juniors and seniors in high school who are seeking a "different kind of path" in their educational journey.
Middle College is not a new concept in education, just relatively new in this part of South Carolina.
2009-2010/5th year
2010-2011 formed a partnership with YSD #1.
Average between 10-17 students per year.
Goals: Prepare students for success in a rigorous and challenging well structured academic environment with support on both campuses.
Promote a college-bound culture.
What segment of the student population do we target?


First Generation College student
Free or Reduced lunch student
More than 2 siblings in college at the same time
GPA between 2.9 & 3.9
Single Parent Home
Attendance
Discipline
Teacher recommendations
C or higher in each of their current classes
Have qualifying Compass/SAT/ACT scores
Successfully pass College 105 with a C or higher
Completed Application/Interview
