Linux DevOps Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of complex, highly scalable and fast growing Linux systems that are used under a heavy load
- Working really closely with developers, and also getting involved with coding
- Face various networking-related challenges including routing, usage of NAT, port forwarding, configuring firewalls, and http proxies
- Maintain a reliable infrastructure based on the server-parks of Amazon AWS, SoftLayer and Rackspace
- Experience with Linux systems (we use Ubuntu) and shell programming
- Great problem solving and debugging skills are must haves
- Deep knowledge of Linux internals is essential
- At least basic MySQL skills
- The ability to remain calm and effective in the face of unexpected changes
- Ability to work closely with others under pressure
- Strong sense of ownership
- Scripting skills in Python/Ruby
- Experience with operating high traffic websites
- Awareness of automation systems
- Knowledge of highly available systems
- Practical experience with distributed systems
- High level MySQL administration skills
