A problem-focused, broad-fields approach finds students diving deep into subject matter by examining it from the perspective of problems that are interesting to them and relevant to their lives. Rather than separating Literacy, Math, Humanities and Sciences into segregated content areas, students work on projects in cooperative groups guided by teachers to examine their community.
