Responds to the need to unify schools, families and community efforts to prevent school dropout
Promotes students access to higher education and parental involvement. What is Juntos? in partnership with shoools and community organizations 41% of all H.S. Latinos in NC did not graduate in 4 years in 2009 Parental involvement has consistently been shown to prevent academic failure Especially among Latino youth One father remarked "We all want our kids to succeed in school. Families just need to know the path to get there.” After the 6-week program: Mentoring, success coaching, and afterschool clubs How does it work? For English or Spanish-speaking parents and their teens in the 8th -12th grades Starts with a 2½ hour family workshop series of 6 sessions once a week Involves college students as tutors, speakers, and mentors Juntos requires a
