Sophie & Andrew Year 1867 -Andrew Johnson signed the Reconstruction Act that resubmitted the Confederate states into the Union. Year 1868 The 14th Amendment provided former slaves of the United States national citizenship. Oliver H. Kelley started the Grange Movement which was used as a social and educational tool to help Western farmers better their lives. Year 1868 Founding of the Knights of Labor. This group was known for being larger, geared towards more socialist and militaristic way than the Grange Movement. Year 1869 Andrew Johnson's presidency term from 1865 to 1869 ends. Ulysses Simpson Grant becomes president in 1869. Year 1869 Year 1870 The 15th Amendment granted African Americans the right to vote. Year 1870 Year 1872 On March 1, 1872 Yellowstone National Park was established in Wyoming. The Great Railroad Strike of 1877 was on the 17th of July. It was when railroad workers and 500,000 other people went to strike. The government had to use federal troops to stop the violence. Ulysses Simpson Grant's term as president ends. Year 1918 Rutherford Birchard Hayes becomes president in 1877. Year 1919 Year 1919 Year 1920 Works Cited Rutherford Birchard Hayes ends his termin 1881.
James Abram Garfield becomes president in 1881 and also ended in 1881.
Chester Alan Arthur becomes president in 1881. Chester Alan Arthur's presidency term ends. Grover Cleveland becomes president. Grover Cleveland's term ends as president. Benjamin Harrison becomes president. Benjamin Harrison's term as president ends. Grover Clevleland becomes president for another term. In 1895, the US went into war against spain because they had sunk the U.S.S. Maine in the Havana Harbor. Grover Cleveland's presidency term ends. William McKinley becomes president. William McKinley's term as president ends. Theodore Roosevelt becomes president. William Howard Taft becomes president. Theodore Roosevelt's 2 terms as president end. William Howard Taft term as president ends. Woodrow Wilson becomes president. In 1917 the US entered World War 1. World War 1 ends. The Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919.
