More than a disagreement
Emotions may fester when the conflict is ignored and not dealt with Reporting someone's unimportant events to get them IN trouble. “Bullying is a conscious, willful, deliberate activity intended to harm. It can be verbal, physical, and/or relational; includes all forms of hazing and cyberbullying. It can be and often is continuous and repeated over time, but does not have to be. Once is enough to constitute bullying.”
Talk to a trusted adult. Use AA bullying email or voicemail.
Support the bullying target by standing at their side, or helping them walk away from the situation.
Diffuse the situation by changing the topic or inputting humor.
Be an ACTIVE bystander by telling the bully to stop, or walking away. The bully looses power when he/she loses his/her audience.
After the bullying occurs, validate the target's feelings by disputing the bully's words. Reporting someone's actions to get someone OUT of trouble.
