The most important factors are engagement and student interest
European Commission report on innovative use of ICT in schools confirms other international research findings that using ICTs has broad positive benefits for learning modes such as cognitive processing, independent learning, critical thinking, and teamwork.
ICT enhances a student-centred learning approach. 
However most teachers have not yet used ICT in these ways and it has yet to revolutionise what is happening in schools
