96% of Churches have some form of intentional Bible instruction on Sunday. (Sunday School) "Sunday School is experiencing an identity crisis." Elmer Towns A Sunday School has four unique characteristics: It reaches both Christian and unsaved children
It's curriculum is the Word of God, rather than catechism
The purpose is to reach children for Christ through the ministry of teaching, rather than strictly edify the children of the faithful
It is operated by laymen "Gospel Light must serve the church, and stretch the church." 3 Challenges Renew the emphasis on Evangelism Put the Child in the midst. Elevate the role of the teacher "The aim of Christian Education can be summed up in one word: "Evangelism."" "The church, like her Lord, must put the child in the midst." "Ninety percent of the success of any Sunday school rests with the teachers."
