Twice the power every 2 years By 1971 computers
had 64 times the power
of their 1959 ancestors by 2008 they were
2 BILLION times
more powerful Doubled 10 more times (2030) computers will have the processing power of a human brain... our students might not be human Even if they don't become sentient These machines will change the way we live when a supercomputer
fits in the palm of your hand is GPS enabled and wirelessly networked with a billion others like it voice activated and able to scan and read any document aloud will our notion of literacy be different? When you've got a real time, 3D, virtual world projected over what you hear and see You might not need a classroom Your employer might provide specialised, on-the-job training... but what if your employer doesn't offer training? in 2010 it doubled again:
4 billion times the power What if you're:
looking for work,
a change of career...
or edutainment?
On a global network where information can
be reproduced
and transmitted
for next to nothing there will be plenty of information out there training material
could be free and open source Training providers might charge
for guidance and assessment,
but their content will be free... ...attracting students from around the world ? how will RTOs
create free, game
based, interactive
content in 3D
virtual worlds students, & trainers business working together to create new worlds
