the manner in which we aggregate and dissimentate information has fundamentally changed
TRUTH
TRUTH
It's not about the social network: it's about PEOPLE
TRUTH
our friends influence what we buy
TRUTH
Whether you like it or not, social media is happening to your brand
BUt I don't have time for social media
If you have time to care about your business you have time to care about social media
What do I need to know?
How does information flow in my industry?
Where do people get their information?
Do they hang out in networks?
What influences my customers?
Who influences my customers?
How do consumers interact in my industry?
STORIES
Understand the law of the few
10 percent influence the purchasing behavior of the other 90 percent
RElationships are important
DELIGHT THEM
91 percent of people are likely to purchase AFter they hear a recommendation from a "friend"

YOU must connect with influencers
Where should we start?
Look Up.
What about ROI?
sales
profit
customer retention
customer satisfaction
Don't worry about
traffic from Twitter
Fans on Facebook
certain kpi's may not make sense right out of the gate
Instead focus on:
Let's take a widescreen view
Create and distribute phenomenal content
where your brand advocates already are
and your brand will scale via these passionate people.

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinerrvtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.
WHOAH, that was cool.
I have a friend who owns a Framing store
Product = Frame
Ubiquity = How can people find you?
Twitter?
Flickr?
Facebook?
Google?
Youtube?
Foursquare?
Let me show you what I mean...
Reality = the product is the emotion attached to what is being framed
Or like a letter I received from my now deceased Grandfather
Which I framed and placed on my nightstand
Easy = make it easy for people to find you in all of those places we just mentioned
This letter evokes emotion in me
People frame things that are special to THEM.
Like finger paintings by their niece:
Tapping into the emotion behind your produce is simple
Allow your brand advocates to raise their hand and be heard
Remember KISS
Keep It Simple Stupid
Not THAT KISS
or THAT KISS
But what does it mean?
Don't sweat the small stuff
Understand the big picture, and start to engage in social, immediately.
Back then I didn't really appreciate the gravity of the letter
Engage in social media the right way, and the rest will follow
Try to remember why you started your business in the first place
What are the benefits of your product or service?
Why to people love you?

Don't worry about the negative comments:
You just might learn something...
But now, it's a prized possession
So let's review:
OR...just
THANK YOU
