How to Charter with CILIP Chartership is the professional qualification that helps you become the professional you want to be. register as a candidate choosing a mentor writing your personal professional development plan the criteria What must go into your portfolio? What can go into your portfolio? how do I evaluate? an ability to reflect critically on personal performance and to evaluate service performance active commitment to continuing professional development an ability to analyse personal and professional development with reference to experiential and developmental activities breadth of professional knowledge and understanding of wider professional context preferably not your line manager look outside your organization / sector you may recognize names from Update, Gazette and group and branch newsletters, communities arrange your first meeting agree how many meetings and perameters Write your PPDP together Why do we need portfolios? For gathering and presenting evidence To aid evaluation and reflection For appraisal, career change To demonstrate professional judgement Because they’re essential to the Framework of Qualifications A contents table CV PPDP Personal evaluative statement (1,000 words) Aims and objectives of organization Structure chart Evidence of participation in mentor scheme What should they contain? What have you learned? Where are you going? What do you need to get there? Exercise create a CPD audit sheet write down one activity you've participated in recently say what you've learned how you've applied that learning in the workplace what criteria it helps you to meet what evidence could you include in your portfolio? if you are not describing if you have measured your effectiveness if you can demonstrate how you have put into practice what you have learned if you are asking questions (and answering them) How do I know if I'm evaluating?
