Any action taken or situation created that is life-threatening or intended to hurt or to humiliate physically or mentally
Immediately report possible hazing violations to Student Affairs and the University of New Orleans Police Department
The University may initiate appropriate disciplinary action against individual students for violations of the Student Conduct Code arising from the incident

POLICY
DEMONSTRATION POLICY
Picket or engage in any type of demonstration or mass protest
Notify the Office of Student Affairs (UC 248)
At least 24 hours notification
Notification to ensure the safety of all participants involved.

*Demonstrations which disrupts the normal operations of the University and infringe on the rights of others is a University violation.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Executive board members are full-time UNO students, 2.0 GPA
Must re-register annually in the fall
Inform SIL within 10 days of changes
Inform SIL if organization deactivates
Assume responsibility for member's behavior
Events and meetings must be inclusive and non-discriminatory
Present documentation of affiliation to "parent" or national/international organization, if one exists
Comply with the Statement of responsibility
Comply with the Statement of compliance
EXPECTATIONS
Sponsoring activities and events on campus
Use of university facilities and property
Distributing literature, flyers, and organizational materials
Receipt of relevant publications and mailings by SIL and Student Affairs
Access to SOAR
Request university organizational email address
Solicit membership and funds on campus
*All in accordance with current university policies and procedures
Registered group not an official component of UNO
UNO not responsible for any contracts, behaviors, or acts by RSO
May not act on behalf of UNO
Registration only permits RSO's to operate on campus, off campus activities are sole responsibility of organization
Participation is voluntary and risks are assumed by organization
Chapters of national organizations are subject to additional recognition policies and procedures by their national organization and SIL
*Registration status can be withdrawn by SIL and further university disciplinary actions can occur for:

Violations of policies, procedures, and regulations (outlined in handbook)
Violation of state, federal, or local laws
Failure to pay organization debts
Falsification, misrepresentation, or non-compliance of registration information and requirements
Any misrepresentation of UNO, organization, or intentions

Participation in illegal behaviors involving alcohol and drugs not tolerated
Consumption of alcohol by individuals under 21 and drug use is prohibited
Abstinence always supported
Consumption of alcohol never encouraged although moderate and legal use may be permitted
Abusive consumption of alcohol always discouraged
Alcoholic beverages may only be served by a university authorized vendor/server, requires a permit, and advisor must be on site
Non-drinking monitors are required for the event (Such as the organization's president and other officers)
Alcohol may not be purchased with university funds
Alcohol may not serve as an incentive to participate and there must be a reasonable portion of the budget spent on purchasing food items and non-alcoholic beverages
*UNO PD must be contacted two weeks in advance for events on campus with alcohol. Subject to university sanctions otherwise.

To serve food or beverages on campus must go through Campus Dining
Only baked goods may be sold at bake sales (cookies, brownies, etc.)
FREE SPEECH POLICY
Demonstrate civility
Concern for the safety of persons and property
Respect university activities
Respect those who may disagree
Compliance with university policies and the law
UNO maintains right to regulate expressive activities on campus through reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions
*Unlawful, lewd, vulgar, or indecent activities disruptive to normal operations of the university will not be tolerated
UNO is an environment of mutual tolerance and respect, which is free of hostility toward, discrimination against, or harassment of any person based on gender, race, color, religion, sex, disability, national origin, age, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, or any other status protected by law
Strive for awareness and sensitivity in all programs, activities, publications, advertisements and services offered
