Arthropoda
Arachnid,Crustacea, Insecta, Chilopoda, Diplopada
All members of this group have a segmented body enclosed in a tough, jointed external skeleton
Most arthropods move by leg, but plenty more
hop,swim,crawl, leap etc
Most all arthropods reproduce sexually. Some species of insects are parthenogenetic. The female organism , under certain circumstances , can produce fertile offspring without mating. A complex developmental process is common in insects. This process is called metamorphosis.
Beneficial arthropods can prevent or limit pest problems in the yard and garden
There is not a certain way all Arthropods obtain their foods,
because there are so many of them. For instance, some eat
algae and some eat whatever is living and they can find.
Some are carnivors and go hunting. The main way they obtain
their foods is by hunting for living and/or dead things.
More then 80% of animals fall into the Arthropoda catagory
Life and the world would end very quickly without
arthropods. They are great recyclers and decomposers. They pollinate plants and keep the air healthy.
