On Demand Testing
A set of online tests in English and Maths which can provide teachers with information about the skills, knowledge and understanding of their students.
Two types of tests available
in both English and Maths:
Adaptive tests
Linear Tests
Tests are downloaded from the VCAA server to a school server for delivery on the school network   
                                                                      
Tests can be administered to a single student 
and/or a whole class.                                                       

ADAPTIVE
 Individualised test which responds to student’s answers.
Single dimension or general
Provides a snapshot of student’s Location on the VELS continuum
30 – 60 questions
Tests take about 15-45 minutes
Students cannot return to previous questions
Students will get more challenging questions as they answer
Paper & pencil/pen are allowed
No calculators allowed during the test
                                          
LINEAR (PROGRESS)
 A group of students all sit the same test
Available in single dimension only
Provides a detailed set of information about the student’s areas of strength and weakness in the selected dimension.

Why do we Need More Tests?
Teachers are being very cautious with teacher judgements
How do I get the data off the system?
First generate a report
Now put the data into excel and graph it.
Consider setting some protocols around:
- Storing reports
- Using a single Excel spreadsheet for graphing all data - new sheet foreach grade perhaps
