business cards
& letterhead
in business cards...
it is okay to have empty corners
it is okay NOT to center the layout
it is okay to use type smaller than 12pt
it is okay to use one large graphic image
a standard business card is 3.1x2 inches.
templates in Illustrator and InDesign will
give you an easy start.
Consider 1) readable numbers, 2) the necessity
of labels--do you need to say "telephone" or can
you do "t" or simply just put the number?, 3) parentheses
around area codes are truly unnecessary
don't be afraid to use small type or graphic elements
don't be afraid to use large type or graphic elements
don't be afraid to place items in unusual positions
don't be afraid to fill the writing space with an image.
so long as the opacity is low enough to put readable text over.

the letterhead
i'm not a fan of the square business card, but intriguing...
vertical business card? also note the bottom right image on the letterhead
kristin loves this more than is reasonable.
awesomeoness of 2-sided business cards
vs. increased printing cost.
varying backsides for business cards= clever.
also, check out that activated white space
in the business card.
