~ when an object bumps up against the "trigger" on a cnidocyte, the nematocyst(organelle) inside it suddenly pushes the filament out of the cell with great force
~tentacles capture small animals with their nemotocyst and paralyze them with poisen that they inject.
~ the tentacles push it into their mouth.
~cells lining the cavity absorb nutrients, and waste are exited through the mouth
