That first week back from SAn diego been a little rough for ya??
ERE EXPO WRAP up-A few highlights
John Vlastelica was this years MC.
Not that one.
This one
Points from the opening session:
Recruiters are company builders, we provide the bricks of structure with our work
2010 is a big year for growth-hockey stick curve up is coming.

(According to John, Lou Adler has "spittle.")
Keynote speaker was russell kronenburg
AKA "The thunder from downunder"
Russell provided insight on breaking talent boundaries and delivering sustainable value to the community.
Showed a compelling video with great tidbits of info:
3 billion people in the world live on 2$ a day or less

Top 50 companies will make 520 billion this year. That's billion, with a B. 1/2 a trillion.
Facebook is the 3rd largest nation in the world
Companies should change there mindset from best in the world, to best for the world.
The term that struck me and has stayed in my mind is “A change is an opportunity to improve.” (He said it in an Australian accent which is way cooler than my southern one.)
John recently became Senior Director, Global Talent Acquisition for Expedia
Prezi by Andrew Holtzclaw(@YVandrew)
Kat drum....rocked.

Using Social Media to Attract and Engage Passive Candidates

By 2010, Gen Y will out number baby boomers.
What happens in Vegas, stays on Facebook.
Facebook has more monthly traffic than google. Wow
Audit your brand on a regular basis, see what people are saying.
Facebook ads are the new line ad.
Rob dromgoole
"The closer"
Discussed the benefits of performance profiles
Showed and discussed a script to use for cold calling
Only give 24 hours for an applicant to accept
Had a dialogue with attendees over whether applicants should tell there salary
(And if you know me, you know I feel that applicants should politely decline to disclose it.)
Dr. John sullivan
candidate experience

You can't avoid providing a CE, just if it's a good or not.
The average professional will invest over 1k in a job search
Bad CE's can drive down employee referrals by 23%
Most importantly, it doesn't cost anymore to do it right!
Conclusion
Just touched on a few key notes that stuck out, every presenter I saw was great.(I mean that too.)
This was a great expo major kudos go out to all of the ERE staff for putting this bad boy together.
Shout out to everyone I met, vendors and attendees!
