What is BPGlobalPR?
http://twitter.com/bpglobalpr
A fake twitter account
where someone posts
as if they are British Petroleum
BP, you may remember
just buried the livelihoods and bodies of thousands of
innocent animals, fish and people who live in and around the Gulf of Mexico under thousands of gallons of oil. A day.

Q: How to fight back about this
massive disaster when the
"powers that be"
seem disinterested?
A: Make a fake twitter account and start pretending to be the CEO of BP, or the BP PR department.

Sample Tweets:
Listen, we were just drilling into
the Earth's crust a mile beneath
the ocean with shoddy off switches. Don't blame us! #bpcares
Feeling down? Why not take a long drive and blow off some steam? #bpcares
We are very sorry, but due to an increased amount of accidental immolations, all beach volleyball tournaments are now non-smoking. #bpcares
If Top Kill doesn't work, we're just gonna toss a giant "Get Well Soon" card into the gulf and hope for the best. #bpcares
New solution: Everybody drive your cars into the gulf with your gas caps open! You'll get a full tank and we'll only charge $20 cash!
The spill happened roughly a month and a half ago.
They have 91,000 followers. That's a lot for a month of activity, FYI.
You know, when something bad happens, people want to know what your nonprofit is going to do about it.

All proceeds from sales of their t-shirts go to healthygulf.org.
Cleaning up is important. And so is addressing the issue in a compelling way, through humor that brings the issue home again and again and again that what is happening is wrong.
What issue does
YOUR nonprofit care about?
Could you make a twitter account full of snarky comments and help
garner support for your cause?
Why not try it and see what happens?
Thanks for reading.
Let's make nonprofit marketing
better every day.

Imagine if 91,000 more people knew about your cause, cared about what you said on twitter, and wanted to help your efforts to stop pollution.
